Hospice of Central Ohio (HOCO) provides compassionate end of life care through physical, emotional, and spiritual care support. Angel Paws' Pet Partners visit the Selma Markowitz Care Center located on the sixth floor of Licking Memorial Hospital managed and staffed by the clinical staff of HOCO. The 7 bed care center is designed for patients needing symptom management. Angel Paws also participates in HOCO's Children's Grief Summer Camp, a week long day camp for children ages 6 to 14 years who have lost a special person in their lives. The Center for New Beginnings Shelter & Services provides a safe place for women and their children as they seek freedom from domestic violence. While at New Beginnings, women and children are provided the resources and skills they need to build a safe, healthy and happy life. It is very common for women to resist leaving an abusive home because they don't want to leave their pets. Angel Paws AAA/T visits to New Beginnings began in 2006. It has been very rewarding to bring comfort to these brave women and their children.
